The Baja Book Festival in its second year hopes to promote a bi-cultural event for the hopes to promote Baja California for the benefit of writers, artists, merchants, hotels and restaurants, and – not least – the thousands of visitors and residents from within and outside of Mexico, who should be exposed to the best of Baja. With everything from books and authors, to arts and crafts, to foods, wine and beers, the Baja Book Festival will showcase the Best of Baja.
Where: Casa Vieja, Kilometer 93.5 Highway 3, Ensenada-Tecate, (San Antonio de las Minas) In Ensenada´s beautiful wine valley
When: Saturday, October 15, 2011, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
11 a.m. – Opening & Welcome
11:30 a.m. - Coffee and Pastries available
12 noon – Entertainment begins, music throughout the day
12 noon – Regional food available
1 p.m. -- First Raffle drawing
4 p.m. -- Second Raffle drawing
5 to 6 pm -- Chill out session including authors & artists
Why: This event resonates with many in Baja, who enjoy celebrating culture in Baja California. Last years event attracted hundreds of people. Organizers and sponsors of the Baja Book Festival believe that the event will attract both an existing audience and a new audience, lured by the appeal of a cultural fair and located in Valle de Guadalupe the beautiful wine country of Baja, food / accommodation discounts, and the promise of the best of Baja (food, music, wine and art).Portions of the proceeds from the raffle will help support the Baja Scholarship Foundation, a 501C3, that provides monies to send needy Mexican children to school.
Who: The Baja Book Festival will feature both English and Spanish language books and publications. It is bicultural event that will, hopefully, attract people from within Baja California and in Southern California and beyond. |
